We’re revisiting movies right now, lots and lots of movies, so many movies, the movies we haven’t seen in a decade as well as the movies we seem to be watching every month.
Those streaming queues that once seemed backed up and too big? They look a lot shorter than a month ago.
And if you know your movies, you probably know a lot of film locations that have been shown on screen.
Jared Cowan, who runs a number of Southern California location tours, certainly knows the iconic and hard-to-find places, and it doesn’t matter if the building, park, or street was featured in a blockbuster or a cult favorite.
These tours are currently on hold, as we are staying at home during COVID-19, but Mr. Cowan is posting a location each day on his On Location with Jared Cowan Facebook page, to see if other moviegoers can name the associated film at the location. on the picture.
Think you know your filming locations as well as the plot of your favorite thriller? See if you do.
Other cinephile outfits also provide ideas, suggestions, and home trials during this time, from AFI Lists (Movies You Wanted to Watch Lists You Always Loved) to Academy of Film Arts and Lists of Science. (including the five best romantic comedies) to the #MaltinMovieClub Movie Choices.
Watch for other listings from the theaters you love, movie preservation groups, and your movie buff friends who’ve been asking you to check out their top ten list for years.
